Born in Santarém, Portugal, he began freediving at the age of 14. At 17 he volunteered for the Portuguese Navy where he initially trained in seamanship and navigation. In 1997, while still in the navy, he took his first diving course at the Submarine Squadron, training as a combat diver. In the same year, he left the navy and entered the professional diving market, where he made thousands of dives throughout the Portuguese mainland and on the islands of São Miguel and Santa Maria in the Azores archipelago. Between 2000 and 2002 he worked as a volunteer firefighter in training and as head of rescue divers operations, participating in several incidents.
In 2005 he arrived in Brazil where he worked as head of operations and manager of a diving school in Fortaleza, later passing through Curitiba and Porto da Galinhas where he graduated as a diving instructor in 2007. He arrived in Alagoas in 2010 where he started working in a existing school in Maceió and in 2011 he founded Let’s Dive.
He is currently CEO and COO of Let’s Dive with approximately 900 trained students, several of them at professional levels, and more than 14,000 dives carried out. He is also responsible for career planning for new students.
